| What is Advocacy? |
|
“Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. Advocates and advocacy schemes work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice"
Our service has a mental health focus, but there are also services for people with learning disabilities, people from black and minority ethnic communities, and older people. Visit Action for Advocacy to find an advocate in your area. Click on the titles on the menu on the right for more details of what advocates can and cannot do, the basic principles we work to, and information about non-instructed advocacy. |
