Volunteer roles

There are many ways that you can get involved, here are just some volunteer opportunities available:

Trustee 

be involved with the management and development of the bureau.

Advice worker

training is provided in order that you will be able to give advice to clients about various issues, including claiming benefits, housing, debt etc.  This role requires a commitment of 2 days per week for at least 1 year.

Advocate

for this role, you will be helping clients have their say about the care they receive and helping them make an informed decision about their care.  Training is provided.

Financial Skills Trainer

for this role you will be delivering money skills training to service users and front line staff. To find out more see our MoneyActive page.

Admin worker

to support staff with general admin tasks, such as sorting the post, taking telephone messages, typing up minutes of meetings, photocopying etc.  Unfortunately, we do not have any admin opportunities at present.

Website updater / Social networking

to be involved with updating our website, possibly to look into social networking, such as Facebook and Twitter etc which is something we currently do not do.

IT maintenance and troubleshooter

assisting staff with computer problems.

Social policy work

collecting and presenting evidence to support campaign work either locally or nationally.

Information updater

to manage and update reference materials used by advice workers.

Fundraising

ideally with experience of filling out funding applications, to assist the bureau is securing a more stable financial future.

Marketing

getting involved with leaflet design, displays and attending events, as well as any other marketing ideas you may have to raise awareness of both our CAB Advice and Advocacy services.  Ideally, we would like someone who has a marketing background who can help guide us through the maze that is 'marketing'.
