Aims / Mission Statement

Our Mission

Ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, or of the services available to them or through an inability to express their needs effectively, and equally, to exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally.

The specific aims of Sheffield Mental Health Citizens Advice Bureau and Advocacy Service are:

  • to provide a comprehensive advice service to users of the mental health Service in Sheffield including representation and advocacy where appropriate;
  • to provide a mental health specialist advice service to Citizens Advice Bureaux nationally;
  • to campaign with mental health service users and other groups to ensure good quality mental health service provision in the community; and
  • to undertake social policy work specifically in relation to people with mental health problems.
